The Church Sign |
The date of the first church to be built on this site is unknown, but most people believe it to be 1111AD. During the Dissolution of the Monasteries, the church became the property of the crown and was restored using stone from both Furness Abbey and Conishead Priory.
The tower dates from 1540-60, but most of the church is later following restoration and rebuilding in the 19th century.
