The Cemetery, which is mainly for Penwortham residents, is situated at the end of Hill Road. It was opened in 1965/6 and is divided into sections as follows:-
| Section 1 (A) | - non denominational has burials from 1966 |
| Section 2 (B) | - Church of England has burials from 1966 |
| Section 3 (C) | - Roman Catholic also has burials from 1966 |
| Section GR | - Garden of Remembrance burials from 1971 |
| Section D | - stillborn and very young babies for which there is no charge, opened in 1999 |
There is also going to be a woodland section.
