St Kentigern's RC Church is situated on Newton Drive, Blackpool. The site comprises of the Church, Parish School and Parish Social Centre.

The Parish was formed in 1904 being the third Catholic Parish in Blackpool after the Sacred Heart (1854) and St Cuthbert's (1880).

The first parish Priest was Fr Blundell who later moved to St Peter's, Lancaster, which in 1924 became the new Cathedral for the recently formed Diocese of Lancaster. As was customary in those days the parish began with a school, the hall of which was used for the Church.

The present Church was built in 1932 at a cost of £22,000 and opened for use by Canon McManus with the first Mass being celebrated on August 2nd 1931.

The current parish priest is Fr John C Foulkes. The parish covers a large area of the Layton district of Blackpool.
